Nearly half of all young adults in the U.S. between the ages of 18 to 29 live with their parents, a trend that has grown over decades but saw a significant increase over the last few years.

The primary reason for this living arrangement is economic, with rising rental costs cited as a major factor, enabling young adults to save significantly by paying less for rent while living at home.

Additionally, living with parents allows these young adults to allocate more of their budget towards discretionary spending on items like travel and luxury goods.
